Disney World in Abu Dhabi
The biggest announcement of the year is the upcoming Disney World and Resort on Yas Island. It is definitely the UAE’s most remarkable tourism and entertainment milestone of 2025. Walt Disney finally decided to open its new resort in Abu Dhabi. It will be the 7th city worldwide to witness the magnanimous beauty of Disney World and Resort.
Abu Dhabi is also progressing significant cultural projects, along with completing the Saadiyat Cultural District. It will feature the Zayed National Museum, TeamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, and others.
The Butterfly Reserve
Abu Dhabi is also coming up with another latest attraction – The Butterfly Reserve. It is the capital’s first-ever interactive butterfly reserve and a part of the Abu Dhabi Butterfly Garden. The reserve will feature over 10,000 unique and colorful butterflies residing in climate-controlled domes. Set amidst the soothing tropical surroundings, these domes will replicate their natural ecosystems. The Butterfly Reserve will be inaugurated this year.
‘Therme Dubai’ – An Upcoming Well-Being Resort in Dubai
Dubai is also not behind in terms of upcoming leisure destinations. It announced the launch of Therme Dubai. The concept is more of a well-being resort and interactive park. It will be the Middle East’s first of its kind attraction and the largest in the world.
Therme Dubai will be built in Zabeel Park, and the estimated project cost is nearly Dh2 billion. It is set to open in 2028 and will offer wellness, recreation, entertainment, healthcare, and much more. The project will span over an area of 500,000 square feet and will accommodate 1.7 million visitors in a year.
Dubai’s Advanced Wellness
Therme Dubai will feature natural therapy zones, relaxing thermal pools, and dedicated wellness floors. Furthermore, there will be a Michelin-starred restaurant and three gigantic waterfalls (each 18 meters tall).
Dubai is moving ahead with many flagship leisure projects. One of them is the Mushrif National Park Hiking Trail. It is Dubai’s first-ever longest urban mountain pathway and will include Mushrif Hub. It will offer comprehensive leisure services. Other highlights are the Hatta Mountain Bike Trail, featuring 21 cycling routes and 17 hiking paths.
Rock Art in Sharjah
Sharjah Investment and Development Authority is coming up with the Kalba Rock Art Center in Sharjah. It is going to be one of the largest rock carving sites in the UAE, offering a sneak peek into the region’s history through engravings and artifacts.
Marjan Island and Luxury Hotels in RAK
Ras Al Khaimah also unveiled new plans for multiple luxury hotels on the Marjan Island. But one of the most anticipated ones is the Wynn Resort Marjan Island. It will feature 1500-plus rooms and suites, a massive beachfront pool area, swimming pools, cabanas, and much more.
