Before the Fujairah Museum became what it is today, it was a single-room museum in 1969. It is not completely unbelievable as everything evolves with time but knowing the history of the museum is a unique experience in itself. So, in 1969, this museum exhibited coins, pottery, weapons and farming tools in that single room. Afterward, on 27 May 1991, the museum went under the order of maintenance of both the place and the collection along with a decree establishing a Department of Antiquities and Heritage for the Emirate of Fujairah. After fulfilling the decree and other orders, it finally opened its gates to the public on 30th November 1991. However, the final expansion with two large halls for antiquities and three halls for heritage happened in 1998.
