Armenia finally started offering visa-free entry to UAE residents. It became official on the 1st of July. This new policy applies to GCC passport holders and people with a valid residence permit from any six Gulf nations. The Tourism Committee of the country on Wednesday said that this new scheme for the residents will make traveling easy, especially for expats living in the Gulf.
GCC countries include the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar.
This new policy is part of a broader plan by the Armenian government. It will make traveling to Armenia easy for those having residency permits. However, the residence permit should have six months’ validity and should be issued in the GCC countries, the European Union, the Schengen Area, or the US.
The final decision was recently confirmed at the Armenian cabinet meeting. Officials believe that it will improve the economic ties, support tourism, and ease business opportunities between Armenia and GCC member states.
