From July 2026, there will be a significant rise in visa charges for tourists from over a hundred countries. This increase is officially announced to be more than 400% for a few nations. As per the revised fee structure, we have the following details:
- Single-entry Japan tourist visa fees increase from around $18 to $93.
- Multiple-entry Japan tourist visa fees increase from around $37 to $186.
Japan’s foreign ministry has mentioned that it is the first increase in visa fees in over 48 years. There are three reasons that officials have stated play an important role in the rise of these visa fees:
- Inflation
- Higher administrative costs
- Changes in exchange rates over the years
Which Travelers Will Pay the New Japan Visa Fees?
