The global icon in Dubai is set to show its brilliance. The Dubai Fountain reopens its gates to visitors on Wednesday, October 1, after months of upgrades that will offer an even more powerful spectacle.
The fountain, which is located on Burj Lake beside Dubai Mall and Souk Al Bahar, was shut down in April in view of its significant upgrade. They drained the 30-acre lake and replaced the old floor with a stronger water-insulating concrete to prepare for new technology. For Downtown visitors, the sight of the lake without its iconic show was unusual. However, the closure was necessary to ensure a stronger foundation.
New Updates of Dubai Fountain 2025
During the upgrade, developers installed advanced systems to transform the nightly shows. Expect improved choreography, sharper sound, and enhanced lighting. Robots will now control water and light movements to deliver precision effects. The Dubai Fountain, which sends 22,000 gallons of water 140 meters in the air, is coming back with even more breathtaking performances.
They installed 500 metres of state-of-the-art digital screens to keep the promenade lively during the time it was closed. These screens filled the space with animated visuals and engaged the visitors as they waited for the fountain’s return.
Until the Dubai Fountain reopens, Restaurants and cafés around the lake were also supported. Their rent was waived for four months between June and September, as footfall naturally dipped during the pause. It is because a large part of their revenue was dependent on the landmark and its shows. Thus, it displays the sincerity of the developers who did not turn a blind eye to them.
This reopening of the historic Downtown Dubai attraction is ready to attract the millions of visitors again, including tourists. Moreover, it is going to offer even more memorable views with the Burj Khalifa as the backdrop.
